CES 2020: Make Sure You Appreciate The “Weird” Products

CES 2020 January 7 – 10, Las Vegas

Every year tech leaders and manufacturers descend upon Las Vegas to view the newest innovations in consumer tech. These new (some upcoming) products generally fall within the following categories

  • 5G and Internet of Things
  • Advertising, Entertainment and Content
  • Automotive
  • Blockchain
  • Health & Wellness
  • Home & Family
  • Immersive Entertainment
  • Product Design & Manufacturing
  • Robotics & Machine Intelligence
  • Sports
  • Startups

Many excellent and truly innovative products are showcased at CES annually, however many bizarre products can be found here also. A few examples include: a companion robot, a ping-pong playing robot, a smart toothbrush, and a self following suitcase.

It is always fun to look at lists of the weird products each year and mock, even in jest. It is important to realize that, yes some products seem a bit out there, but often those innovations will lead to other amazing products down the line that you just might end up using on a daily basis.

I have always been a big believer that no idea is too far out there. You will never know what spurs another idea that just might be game changing in the future. Be careful how you ultimately view the new “weird product”. What is the most bizarre product you have seen at this years (or past years) CES?
